When you write your book, you’ll meet the subtle ways you censor your self-expression.

The ways won’t be new. You’ll have met them all before.

They’ll show up as questions.

Seeking answers that demand to know your credence as an author.

Or assertions.

That tell you the sentiments you write about have all been said before.

They’ll interrogate your knowing.

Acting as the sudden rightful gatekeepers to your hard-earned wisdom.

And you’ll nervously hear them out. As you have done before.

Recognising them as the loosening locks of systems you no longer belong to.

Oppression. Repression. Suppression.

And then, you’ll return your voice to its rightful power in your psyche.

Transmitting that though your words

Writing exactly what you need to write.

Knowing this is the courage it takes to write a book that changes lives.
